Lake effect snow falls across area, weather advisory in place

Some lake effect snow fell through the area overnight.

Roads will be snow covered and slushy to start. We can expect some more flurries throughout the day, maybe some light rain mixing in at times. That will create some slippery conditions on the drive.

And the temperature isn't going to climb too high above the freezing mark, just a high of 3 today then back down to minus 3 tonight with some more flurries.

Environment Canada has released a Winter Weather Travel Advisory for areas stretching from the Bruce Peninsula south through Bruce, Grey, Huron, Perth and Wellington counties. That travel advisory stretches further south through London, Middlesex and Oxford.

While the amount of snow isn't expected to be great, between 2 to 4 cm with more over higher terrains, it's the mixed precipitation that will be the issue. The snow is expected to mix with rain through the day and into Wednesday night.

Temperatures will climb at the end of the week with an expected high of 7 on Friday with a mix of sun and cloud.
