GBHU offers a Halloween weekend message

Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra has issued a Halloween message, saying it's important to remember that the COVID-19 pandemic is still with us as many prepare to partake in trick-or-treating once again.

Dr. Arra says it's crucial that anyone that has COVID-19 symptoms stay at home and away from others, as well as utilizing virtual Halloween events.

He noted that another area of transmission is the meet-ups at front doors on October 31st, and says it would be smart to keep distance between those handing out candy and those receiving it, possibly by homemade devices to send the candy a short distance to trick-or-treaters, but also avoiding shouting or cheering at the doorsteps.

Anyone choosing to celebrate is reminded not to exceed gathering limits of 25 people indoors and 100 people outdoors, as well as provided necessary supplies such as hand sanitizer, soap and water.
