Bruce County Council approves new subdivision

Highlights from the recent Bruce County Council meeting include the approval of a new 50-lot residential Plan of Subdivision, known as the Woodlands Subdivision in Saugeen Shores. Snyder Development Corp Inc will create in 60 new dwellings, ten of which will be secondary dwellings constructed within a single detached dwelling.

The 10.65-hectare parcel of land is to be fully serviced by both municipal water and sewer, within Port Elgin’s built-up area. The subdivision will offer active transportation facilities and connect to the Town’s broader recreational trail network.

The highlights also reported the Bruce County  Municipal Innovation Council has launched a number of projects to help 9improve quality of life for residents and visitors.

According to the published highlights from the recent Bruce County Council meeting, plans are underway to implement an advanced digital mapping solution for natural disaster mitigation and climate change impact monitoring.

The Council is also, developing a Smart Beach infrastructure program that enhances swimmer safety along Lake Huron shoreline. Other projects include developing shared IT service solutions amongst member municipalities, and advancing applied research projects focusing on downtown revitalization, municipal procurement, organizational development, municipal service analysis, and IT business analysis.
