COVID 19 cases climb again Thursday in Midwestern Ontario

Huron Perth Public Health added ten new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, and reported 35 active cases. There have now been 65 fatalities due to COVID-19. one in, two in Perth East, Three in Stratford, and one each in North Perth, Morris-Turnberry, Central Huron, Goderich and South Huron. One resident is hospitalized with covid-19. 75.7% of the eligible population has received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added eight new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, five in Arran Elderslie, and one each in Hanover, Chatsworth, and West Grey. There are 24 active cases, and two residents are hospitalized. 77.9% of the eligible population is fully vaccinated. There have been 22 fatalities in Grey Bruce contributed to the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported six hospitalizations due to COVID-19, two of them in the ICU. 80.7% of the population is fully vaccinated. The hospital occupancy rate in unvaccinated cases is nearly 24 times greater than that of fully vaccinated individuals across the province. 38 new cases, one in Wellington County. In Wellington, there are 36 active cases and 39 fatalities due to the virus. There are eight active cases in Mapleton and one in Wellington North.
