Fundraiser for South Huron Trail tees off near Exeter

The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foundation's annual golf tournament to raise money for the South Huron Trail will have a different look this year.

Foundation Secretary Abbie Gutteridge says they've adjusted the format this year to help keep golfers safe while continuing to raise funds needed for the South Huron Trail.

So they've reserved the morning of August 23rd for golfers to tee off at the Ironwood Golf Course in Exeter and they're asking golfers to pre-register through the ABCA to confirm their tee time.

“This for the South Huron Trail, from Exeter, the McNaughton section, all the way up to Morrison Dam and around the Dam and this will go to maintenance on the trail and improvements to it. It's been in high demand this year, with everybody trying to find safe activities to do, the trail has been very popular," said Gutteridge.

The green fees are $38.75, plus tax, per person, plus a cart if you want to ride.

Lunch is also available afterward and golfers are invited to make a donation to the South Huron Trail.

Tee times can be booked by calling the Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority at 519-235-2610 or toll-free at 1-888-286-2610, extension 221. More details about the tournament can be found on the ABCA web site.
