COVID-19 case count rises in Midwestern Ontario

Multiple cases of COVID-19 were confirmed across Midwestern Ontario Monday.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit added eleven new cases of COVID-19, and reported 175 active cases.  Three of the new cases were in West Grey, two in Owen Sound, two in Grey Highlands, and one each in Arran-Elderslie,   Chatsworth,   South Bruce Peninsula, and Georgian Bluffs.  Ten residents are in hospital due to the virus, and 15 residents have lost their lives due to COVID-19. There is an outbreak at Bobi’s Play School childcare centre.

Huron Perth Public health added 7 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, three in Stratford, two in North Huron and two in Huron East. There are 12 active cases.  One Person is hospitalized with the virus.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health added ten new cases of COVID-19 since Friday, four of them in Wellington. There are 14 active cases in Wellington, including six in Minto, and two in Wellington North. There are five people in hospital across that jurisdiction. Three community outbreaks were reported Monday.
