MOH urges continued precautions

Another surge in COVID-19 cases in Grey and Bruce yesterday with 33 new cases reported.

Nine of the new cases are in Owen Sound; seven in Brockton; four in Saugeen Shores; four in South Bruce Peninsula; three in Hanover; two in both Arran Elderslie and Kincarine; and one each in Meaford and South Bruce.

There are 171 active cases and nine of those are variants of concern.

In releasing the data yesterday, Grey-Bruce's medical officer of health Dr. Ian Arra urged people with loved ones who use illicit substances to make sure those people are taking COVID precautions and "be prudent in taking these precautions yourself when around them."

He also urged everyone to get vaccinated. There are a number of walk-in and pop-up vaccine clinics in the next couple of weeks. You can find a schedule with locations on the Grey Bruce Health Unit website.
