New COVID-19 cases remain in double digits in Grey-Bruce

The Grey-Bruce Health Unit reported another 18 cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, with most of those in Owen Sound and Saugeen Shores.

Owen Sound had seven new cases, while there were seven more in Saugeen Shores. South Bruce Peninsula, North Bruce Peninsula, Grey Highlands, and Chatsworth each had one.

The health unit said there are now 195 active cases across the region and 379 high-risk contacts.

Nine people from the region are in the hospital with the virus, while another five patients have been transferred in from other jurisdictions.

The number of people who got a vaccination continues to rise. The health unit said 25,858 people got their shot this week, for a total of 190,245 doses administered. As of Saturday, 48.7 per cent of the total population over the age of 12 were fully vaccinated.
