Local municipalities receive infrastructure funding

A number of local municipalities are getting a share of the $51.2 million announced Tuesday by the federal and provincial governments for public infrastructure.

The funding will support the development of modern and accessible recreational spaces, and the replacement of equipment in health and emergency facilities.

A number of municipalities and townships in Huron, Perth, Bruce, Grey and Wellington are receiving funding ranging from just under $100,000 to as much as over half a million.

Other investments include increased options for active transportation, and the renovation of municipal infrastructure and community centres.
