Head-on crash causes life-threatening injuries in Carrick Township

One person had to be airlifted to hospital and another faces charges after a head on crash on Bruce County Road 3 in Carrick Township.

Police have released details about Friday's crash that happened around 10:35 p.m..

Investigators say the dangerous situation was compounded when one vehicle caught fire.

The Mildmay-Carrick Fire Department responded to the scene along with paramedics from Bruce and Grey counties.

The driver of the northbound vehicle was airlifted to London with serious, life-threatening, injuries.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 19-year old from Alberta was charged with Dangerous Driving causing Bodily Harm and Operation causing Bodily Harm.
