Rural Ontario Institute to hold virtual info session

The Rural Ontario Institute is hosting a webinar next month on the impact of the pandemic on rural businesses and how they can move forward.

ROI Project Manager Lissel Hernandez says there are some significant differences in the way COVID-19 impacted rural businesses compared to their urban counterparts.

“In some aspects, rural businesses have been doing better than businesses in the cities, so for example, in terms of online presence, rural businesses are not doing as well as businesses in the cities, but they are doing better in maintaining their operation.”

Lissell says the goal of the webinar is to provide peer to peer learning and information to help business people make decisions on moving forward. She says presenters from Stats Canada will talk about their findings on how COVID-19 has impacted rural businesses.

The webinar will take place on July 6th from one till two in the afternoon. More information about the webinar and the speakers as well as registration forms can be found under the events section of the Rural Ontario Institute website.
