The Listowel Wingham Hospital Alliance is once again allowing inpatient visitors now that the provincial stay-at-home-order has been lifted.

In an official release on June 3rd, the LWHA states “inpatients will be able to identify one person as their visitor, and this visitor will be able to schedule daily visits. Visits must be prescheduled with the hospital screening staff to ensure the safety of staff and patients. Visiting will be restricted to the patient’s room, with no access to common areas.

Visitors must pass the screening questions and will be required to wear a mask at all times while in the hospital. Patients in COVID isolation will not be permitted visitor presence.”

The LWHA also says in the release that visitors will not be allowed to accompany patients to the emergency department or outpatient appointments unless requested by hospital staff.

Finally, the release also mentions that hospital cafeterias remain closed to all visitors for dine-in service and there will not be any dining permitted between visitors and patients in hospital rooms.
