Former Kincardine resident to present LGBTQ2+ series

“’Out' in the Country” is a webinar series, hosted by Kincardine Pride, that will bring attention to what it means to be part of the LGBTQ2+ community in rural Ontario.

Former Kincardine resident and Social Change Advocate, AJ Adams, will be presenting the three episode series.

“The first webinar is about LGBTQ2+ language and terminology, the second webinar will be talking about barriers, challenges, and possible solutions, and then the final one will be on the importance of pride and LGBTQ2+ representation in rural Ontario.”

Adams says everyone is encouraged to register for the event, as it’s a great opportunity for those who don’t identify as LGBTQ to learn about the community and become an ally.

“Having a presentation like this through Kincardine Pride is not only just something to offer during pride month, but it’s also to educate the community about the challenges that the community faces in rural settings.”

The webinars are being held on June 10th, 17th, and 24th, all beginning at 7pm.

It’s free, interactive, and you can register through the Kincardine Pride Facebook page.
