Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff is pleased to see an Owen Sound company investing in innovative green technology.

Ruff welcomes the 4.8Million dollars in federal funding from Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada in collaboration with Sustainable Development Technology Canada for  sustainable energy company, Hydrogen Optimized.

Ruff stated, “I am pleased to see investments in businesses in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound. I had the opportunity to meet with Hydrogen Optimized and tour their facility. It is important to invest in innovative green technologies that continue to put Canada at the forefront of cutting-edge clean technology. This Canadian company is playing a part in advancing our global leadership in the clean tech market, helping the environment, while creating jobs and economic growth in our community.”

“The funding will enable development and demonstration of the world’s largest electrolysis cell,” said Andrew T.B Stuart President and CEO of Hydrogen Optimized. “This will allow economic future implementation of large-scale clean hydrogen production systems in the many 100s of megawatts without replicating small units. Deployment of these large-scale systems are required to meet Canada’s climate change objectives.”

The funding announced will provide important support to this business who is taking an innovative approach to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing the environmental impacts of energy production while creating important jobs in Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound.
