New equipment installed at Davidson Centre arena in Kincardine

The municipality of Kincardine has now completed the installation of a new arena refrigerator system.

This comes after Kincardine received a $120,000 Capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) in 2019 for the project.

“The Davidson Centre is certainly a corner stone for the Kincardine community. This investment by the Ontario Trillium Foundation to install a new refrigeration system in the Davidson Centre Arena is great news and the return on this investment will be significant,” said Lisa Thompson, MPP for Huron-Bruce.

The Kincardine Davidson Centre has one ice pad which was built in 1975, and its 46-year-old Freon refrigeration system was no longer able to be used.

“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be underestimated,” said Karen Kieffer, Director of Parks and Recreation. “As a result, our ice users will continue to benefit physically, socially and mentally from this form of exercise for years to come.”
