Paisley Bridge project sees community involvement

A second public meeting was held last night for the Paisley Bridge project, along Bruce Road 3.

The meeting consisted of officials from B. M. Ross & Associates, Bruce County Engineers and Planners, businesspeople, and private citizens.

Presenters addressed concerns brought up previously by community members, and noted some recommendations they plan to implement in the new bridge. They include wider sidewalks, lower railings as to not obstruct the view, as well as viewing platforms for pedestrians on either side.

The new bridge will be constructed in the same location as the present one, spanning the Teeswater River.

In their proposed schedule, contractors plan to complete investigations, consultations, and bridge designs this year, with construction starting in 2022, and likely finishing in 2023, costing millions of dollars.

For more details, and to submit any questions or comments about the bridge, head to their website.
