New Kincardine Alert system

Kincardine is replacing their emergency alert system with a new program called Kincardine Alert. It's a free service that allows people to receive notifications sent from authorities to stay informed on potentially hazardous situations involving weather, traffic, and other emergencies, including the spread of the coronavirus.

The switch to ‘Kincardine Alert’ allows residents to receive alerts via phone, text and email, and answer poll questions that will give Kincardine officials critical information during emergency situations. People who are signed up for the ERMS Notification System will be transferred to Kincardine Alert, but must create a new profile by June 30th.

‘Kincardine Alert’ strengthens Kincardine officials’ ability to communicate with residents when it matters most,” said Shane Watson, Acting Community Emergency Management Coordinator. “This service allows for critical communication with the public and provides individuals with the information needed to stay safe or take precautions during hazardous or emergency situations, especially the current coronavirus outbreak.”

Next week is Emergency Preparedness Week! The theme this year is “Emergency Preparedness: Be Ready for Anything”. The municipality of Kincardine's emergency management team will be posting information to help the community better prepare for an emergency.
