Police charge pair with drug offences following traffic stop in Wellington County
The OPP’s Community Street Crime Units laid numerous drug charges against two people following a recent traffic stop.
On April 26th just after 10 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Sixth Line in Guelph-Eramosa Township of Wellington County, after a drug trafficking investigation. The two people in the car were found to be in alleged possession of methamphetamine, hydromorphone and some memorial plaques, which were determined to be stolen.
The total estimated street value of the drugs is $1,800.
As a result, a 28-year-old Grand Valley native and 33-year-old Palmerston native both face possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking charges as well as possession of property obtained by crime.
The two accused were released from custody and have court appearances scheduled for a later date at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford.
The charges have yet to be proven in court.
