Perth Huron United Way launches mental health report

The Perth Huron United Way has launched a report on mental health and addictions.

It coincides with Mental Health Week.

United Way Executive Director, Ryan Erb, says the report is a progress report on the whole mental health and addiction system and it's particularly timely because of the challenges some people are facing as a result of the pandemic.

Erb says the purpose of the report is to help people understand where they're going as a community on the issue about education, knowing where services are and what they're doing to improve the system.

“This report really does help people who have a vested interest in the system, understand it better. It's written at a fairly high level so that people can recognize how integrated and intricate the system is for us in our community,” said Erb. “It's to help people understand where we're going as a community on the issue about education, knowing where services are and what they're doing to improve the system. But it was also to help those organizations collaborate and figure out what their next steps should be.”

Erb says bringing so many partners together in creating the report encourages them to continue to work together and find more ways they can collaborate on providing mental health and addiction services to the community.
