Huron County's homeless shelter, Out of the Cold, in Goderich, has shut down following winter.
It closed on April 15th.
Warden Glen McNeil says the shelter, which had room for 20, saw about 15 people a night through the winter but they're still trying to find solutions for the rest of the year.
"Some of the individuals choose to live outdoors as opposed to indoors, so it's through the summer months there is not an indoor facility for the homeless. And we as a county council and as a task force committee, with our staff, are looking at options," said McNeil.
McNeil says they've consulted with several people who are closer to the situation and are still trying to find wrap-around solutions that would meet the need.
"I can assure you, it's on our minds every day and it's just a matter of coming up with the most appropriate solutions and we've consulted a variety of individuals involved as far as wrap-around services and how is the best way to address the need and the situation," added McNeil.
Huron County's Out of the Cold shelter was set up at the Lakeshore United Church in Goderich and opened its doors November 15th.
