Bruce County hosting child care information sessions

The Human Services and Economic Development department of Bruce County will be hosting free virtual information sessions to help entrepreneurs and caregivers get started as licensed Home Child Care Providers.

The sessions will be held on Tuesday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Thursday, April 22 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In a release, Bruce County said these sessions will provide information on start-up costs, provincial regulations under the Child Care and Early Years Act, and the benefits of becoming licensed.

Children's Services Manager Tina Metcalfe added, "Home Child Care Providers are integral to the provision of high quality, affordable, inclusive, and accessible child care for the families of Bruce County. The authentic and caring relationships that develop within home based child care contribute to a sense of belonging, engagement, and well-being for all concerned. We value and celebrate the strengths, uniqueness, and diversity of each child, family, and Provider."
