Huron County's Entrepreneur and Business Program Coordinator says their webinars have increased the number of people they have been able to reach.
The Huron County Economic Development Department was forced to make adjustments to their small business workshops because of the pandemic.
Brittany Wise is the Entrepreneur and Business Program Coordinator.
"For example, just in the last three months, we would have between 11 and 14 webinar sessions, said Wise. "And we were seeing 350 people a month participating in those sessions."
Topics did include business basics, digital marketing along with COVID safety planning.
Wise says one of the reasons for the increase is a webinar attracts people from all over the county, rather than just from the area where the in-person work shops has been held.
"So when we would do a live session, in person, you would see a lot of uptake from people in that general area. So if we were doing one in Blyth, you would see people from Blyth, North Huron, maybe some from Goderich. But webinars have really allowed us to expand our offerings to everybody in Huron County," added Wise.
Another benefit of a webinar is that they're able to record them, so anyone who wants to see one they missed can go back and watch the recording.
