Parking project in in Sauble Beach on hold

A proposed parking improvement project along Lakeshore Boulevard North in Sauble Beach is on hold.

In a release the mayor of Town of South Bruce Peninsula, Janice Jackson, says they were granted a permit for the work by the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority but that permit has now been revoked by a Judicial Review.

The town received the decision on Monday. The conservation authority is now being asked to reconsider the permit.

Jackson says they don't have any details about the decision or the reasons for it but they do know it was not unanimous. The justices said they will try to release the full reasons at the end of June.

In the mean time, the town says its going to take "interim steps to mitigate the current safety hazard" but did not say what those steps might look like.
