More residents eligible for vaccine in Huron Perth

Huron Perth Public Health is further expanding eligibility for COVID-19 vaccinations.

Now, adults aged 70 and older (born in 1951 or earlier), Indigenous persons 16 years of age and older, and  Faith leaders who are at increased risk of exposure to COVID-19 through close contact with persons and families will be able to make an appointment for their first dose of vaccine.

For those eligible, appointments can be booked online or through the HPPH booking line at 1-833-753-2098.

“HPPH has been able to book many of our callers for an appointment in under a week,” says Dr. Miriam Klassen. “There continue to be many available appointment times.”

In order to help appointments move quickly, HPPH asks callers to leave only one message – leaving multiple messages slows down the appointment booking process.

“Please know that we have many appointments available, so there is no need to rush,” says Dr. Klassen. “Everyone who wants an appointment will get one.”

It is important to remember that everyone who has received a first dose, or both doses, of a COVID-19 vaccine must continue to follow all public health measures, including wearing a face mask.
