Homelessness symposium will include groups from Ontario, Alberta

The Rural Ontario Institute, based in Guelph, will be involved with a symposium on housing and homelessness.

The Institute delivers programs that helps bring the discussion of rural issues to the forefront.

And Executive Director Norm Ragetlie says they're teaming up with Alberta's Rural Development Network in June to talk about housing and homelessness.

“So that people can take a good idea that might be working, for example, out west and bring it to Ontario, or if there's a good idea from an Ontario presenter that people from other parts of Canada can take that and apply it in their area,” said Ragetlie.

The symposium will be held from June 1st to June 3rd.

“They're really looking for theory or people who study and research the subject," added Ragetlie. "People that are doing real projects and creating a healthy mix of that, instead of just one or the other,” added Ragetlie.

The symposium is open to the public and details can be found on the Canadian Rural and Remote Housing and Homelessness Symposium website.
