COVID-19 assessment hours in Stratford expanded

COVID-19 testing hours are being expanded in Stratford..

The Assessment Centre at the Rotary Complex will now be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

Jennifer Rascao is the Director of Patient Care for HPHA.

“We know that will help our community in identifying the next steps for themselves and their families so, with a lot of screening that's been going on with the schools and work places, we want to ensure that people have their test results back sooner, rather than later and they're able to continue on with their normal lives,” said Rascao.

An appointment will be necessary to get tested.

Rascao says as a resident of Huron or Perth you are worried you have COVID-19 or have been exposed to it, you are encouraged to continue to use the Virtual Assessment Model.

That's available at covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/.

Those without a family doctor can call Huron Perth Public Health at 1-888-221-2133 ext. 3267.

If you are a candidate for testing, you will be referred to an Assessment Centre and will still need an appointed to be tested.
