Huron East Economic Development Officer, Jan Hawley, says they had another good year at the Economic Development Council of Ontario's Awards Night.
Hawley says the 'Looking Out My Back Door' initiative in Seaforth was highlighted.
“It was honouring the project, Looking Out My Back Door, which was something we launched during construction," said Hawley. "But then of course COVID reared its ugly head and it served two purposes, with encouraging people to come down into our shopping area during a time where there was a challenge.”
Hawley says it was rewarding because they were up against communities like Mississauga and Oakville.
Huron East also came runner up in Community Innovation and Resiliency.
