Wellington North decides on mail-in voting again

Wellington North will go with mail-in voting and electronic vote counters for the 2022 municipal election, as it did in 2018.

Voters will still be allowed to deposit their vote in a ballot box at the municipal office if they don't want to use the mail.

In 2018 there were numerous complaints about the accuracy of the voters list. Wellington North Clerk Karren Wallace said the municipality is obliged to again use the voters list provided by the  Municipal Property Assessment Corporation or MPAC.

She said the municipality will have to make the best of it.
