Several COVID-19 outbreaks continue in Huron, Perth

Heading into the weekend, Huron Perth Public Health was tracking 111 active cases of COVID-19.

The numbers are expected to be updated today.

According to its website, Huron Perth Public Health was still reporting several outbreaks in long-term care and retirement homes across Huron and Perth.

In Listowel, the outbreak continues at the Caressant Care Nursing Home and Retirement home. In the nursing home side, there has been a cumulative total of 20 cases in residents and two in staff. In the retirement side there have been 19 cases in residents and four in staff.

There is also an outbreak at Livingstone Manor in North Perth.

In Exeter, the outbreak continues at Exeter Villa Long-Term Care where a total of 36 residents and 11 staff have tested positive since the start of the outbreak.

Also following outbreak protocol are Fordwich Village, Greenwood Court and Spruce Lodge in Stratford, Knollcrest Lodge in Perth East and Wildwood Care Centre in St. Marys.

And an outbreak on the surgical unit of Stratford General Hospital was confirmed on Friday.

Overall the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in Huron and Perth has reached 981 since the pandemic began.

The Grey Bruce Health Unit is currently tracking 43 COVID-19 cases.

The most recent were confirmed late Sunday. Two in Meaford, one in Southgate and one in Blue Mountains. There are no facility outbreaks being reported in Bruce or Grey.

In Wellington County, 17 new cases were confirmed on Friday.

Wellington-Dufferin-Public Health is expected to provide more information later Monday morning.
