MPP says Grey Bruce residents know how to keep people safe in a pandemic

The MPP for Bruce Grey Owen Sound says residents have done an amazing job in keeping the COVID-19 infection rate in the region at one of the lowest in the province.

Bill Walker said, "That is because people really putting others first, for doing all the right things. Washing their hands, keeping their distance, wearing a mask; those three pillars have allowed us to be in one of the lowest zones (of public infection rate) in the province, and we need to continue to do that if we're going to stay in that zone and not have too many restrictions."

"And it is going to be tough over Christmas Holidays, I realize, for people to not be able to share with their families as they have in the past. For one year, I would just ask everyone to do the right thing, to be safe for them, and their loved ones, so that we can get through this and get back to whatever that semblance of normal is," he explained.

"And if we do that, I think Bruce Grey Owen Sound can continue to be a beacon for other places, to be able to show that we have adhered, we have been compliant, and the results show for themselves," he concluded.

Walker adds that we are all in this together, and even with Grey Bruce in the yellow level of restrictions, many have to travel to other regions for specialist health care.
