Brockton to host Fire Training Centre

The Municipality of Brockton has announced a partnership with the Ontario Fire College to establish a Regional Fire Training Centre at the Walkerton Fire Hall.

The Regional Training Centre allows the Municipality to provide in-house training to the Walkerton and Elmwood Fire Departments, as well as serve other departments across Bruce County.

The Centre also has the ability to designate satellite locations to allow the Municipality to work with the County of Bruce Fire Departments to offer a more programs.

Incoming Director of Fire and Emergency Services, Chris Wells, offered congratulations, “The Municipality and both our Fire Departments are enthusiastic about this partnership opportunity with the Ontario Fire College. We are proud to host a Regional Training Centre in Walkerton and offer valuable training locally to our firefighters.”

Mayor Chris Peabody added, “Brockton is excited to host a regional training centre in partnership with the Ontario Fire College. This demonstrates Council’s commitment to ensuring that our firefighters in Bruce County have the training they need to protect our communities.”
