UPDATE: Arrest made after places of worship vandalized

An Owen Sound man is facing charges after several places of worship were vandalized with spray paint over the weekend.
Police in Owen Sound said Beth Ezekiel Synagogue, St. George’s Anglican, the Church of Nazarene, Georgian Shores United Church, and First Baptist Church were all vandalized during the morning hours on Sunday.
Investigators were able to identify a suspect after interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance video.
A 26-year-old Owen Sound man was arrested on 8th Street East in the downtown core Monday afternoon
just before 5 p.m. He is now charged with five counts of mischief to a religious property and one count of mischief under $5,000.
He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.
