Allenford man accused of throwing a hammer through a vehicle's window

An Allenford man is facing charges for assault with a weapon after a hammer was thrown through the windshield of a vehicle.

Grey Bruce OPP said they were called to a "non-traffic collision" on Highway 21 near Concession Road 7 in Georgian Bluffs, west of Owen Sound last Thursday around 6:23 p.m.

Police said there were two vehicles "involved in an interaction" and one of those vehicles came to a stop in front of the other. As the other vehicle approached a claw hammer was thrown through the front window, hitting a person in the vehicle in the chest. Several people in the vehicle were hit with broken glass.

All were treated at hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

A 29-year-old man from Allenford is charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, mischief under $5,000, and mischief that destroys or damages property.
