COVID-19 Cases spike in Midwestern Ontario.

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday.

Five of the cases are Southgate, one in Grey Highlands, nine in Kincardine, one in Arran-Elderslie, and one in West Grey. There are 42 active cases.

There are also ten probable cases, which are people who did not get tested, but were exposed to a confirmed case, and are displaying COVID-19 symptoms. And there are 196 High Risk Contacts associated with active cases. One person is in hospital. There are no facility outbreaks.

Huron Perth Public Health reported another resident of Cedarcroft has died as the outbreak continues at the retirement home in Stratford. There was also a new COVID-19 case confirmed in Howick, the first positive case in that municipality. There are 54 active cases.

Wellington Dufferin Guelph Public Health reported eight new cases in Wellington County today for a total of 56 active cases. One person is in hospital in Wellington County.
