COVID-19 testing gets high marks in Grey Bruce

Residents of Grey and Bruce County are getting a COVID-19 test along with the results in a timely manner.

Grey Bruce Public Health reports 98% per cent of respondents to their survey received a COVID-19 test, or an appointment for a test, from the location at which they initially sought testing. That's up from 80 per cent the week of September 28. The remainder decided not to go through with testing.

The most recent survey found 87 per cent of people were able to receive testing the same day or by the next day, up from 60 per cent the week of September 28.

88 per cent of respondents received their test results within two days. That was true for only 59 per cent on the week of September 28.

Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra said overall feedback was very positive. He explained there were many positive comments about the staff at the assessment centres and the efficiency of the service.

These results are based on a sample of 51 people who responded to a survey promoted on social media indicating that they had attempted to receive a COVID-19 test at an assessment centre in Grey Bruce sometime between October 12 and October 18, 2020
