Auction to support the Blyth Festival starts in November

The Blyth Festival is holding a unique fundraiser next month.

Co-ordinator Cindy Fisher said in the past, the festival hosted something called the three by three event and she always enjoyed coming home with a three by three framed painting.

Given the fund-raising challenges all art associations are having with COVID-19, which has ruled out any kind of physical event, they've decided to host an online art auction and Fisher has taken three by three a bit further and organized a Ten by Ten event.

Fisher said over 120 pieces of art have been donated.

While most of the artists are from Huron and Perth, there are also participating artists who are Blyth supporters from Sarnia to Owen Sound to Oakville.

The auction is called the Blyth Festival Ten by Ten event and in keeping with the name, runs from November 10 to December 10.

“Also, we wanted to hopefully catch some interest in Christmas shopping. Everyone has room for a ten by ten and we thought that might be an opportunity for people to buy, either for themselves or for a gift for Christmas in support of the Blyth Festival,” added Fisher.

People can access the auction site by going to the Blyth Festival website.
