Saugeen Shores North Shore Road closes for erosion protection work

Saugeen Shores will begin daily closures on North Shore Road starting Thursday and lasting several weeks. In preparation, North Shore Road will see a partial lane closure on Wednesday.

Town staff are working on temporary erosion protection while awaiting a coastal engineering report.

Traffic will be blocked on McVicar Street at Fenton Drive and on North Shore Road at Bushwood Drive from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. A signed detour route will be in place from Fenton Drive to Bushwood Drive. The work is expected to take four to six weeks.

North Shore Trail remains closed to both pedestrians and cyclists. While cyclists are able to share the roadway with vehicles, pedestrians are encouraged to explore other trails at SaugeenShores.ca/TrailsMap.

Motorists are reminded to slow down as they travel along this route and watch for cyclists sharing the road.
