St. Marys conducts traffic survey

The Town of St. Marys is asking people to complete a survey to collect public input into the town's Traffic and Parking By-law.

The by-law is updated every two years, with changes usually based on the comments and inquiries that staff receive from the public.

The town is making a formal effort to collect feedback this year to ensure the revised by-law reflects residents’ concerns.

The bylaw covers issues like speed limits, pedestrian crossovers, road safety and parking in the downtown core, as well as electric scooters and off road vehicles using local streets.

We know that traffic and parking are top of mind for many residents right now, especially with children returning to school and winter driving on the horizon

“We know that traffic and parking are top of mind for many residents right now, especially with children returning to school and winter driving on the horizon,” said Jed Kelly, Director of Public Works. “We encourage all residents to take this opportunity to have their voices heard.”

The survey is available online at www.townofstmarys.com/trafficsurvey; paper copies can picked up and dropped off at the Municipal Operations Centre (408 James Street South) between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Each person that answers the survey will be entered into a draw to win a bicycle helmet. The survey closes on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.
