Assessment hours extended in Kincardine

COVID-19 assessment hours continue to expand across the region.

In Kincardine, the assessment centre hours at the hospital are being extended from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The expanded hours were introduced due to an increase in the volume of patients being seen as daily, which spiked to 300 to 350 this week compared to 50 to 75 at the end of August.

Officials said cars will not be allowed to line up for the assessment centre prior to 9:50 a.m.

People are being asked to help in managing volumes of patients, by following the direction of Public Health around the testing of asymptomatic patients, and consider visiting the assessment centre after 2 p.m. when volumes are typically lower.

A system for booked appointments for the Kincardine Assessment Centre is in development and is expected to be implemented next week.
