Vandalism investigation in Southampton ‘top priority’ for police

A member of the Saugeen Shores Police Service says an ongoing investigation into several incidents of vandalism last weekend in Southampton now tops the department’s priority list.

Media Relations Officer Seargent Andy Evans said this is due to the sheer number of incidents, some of which can be seen below, but also some that Evans admitted could not be shared due to being “too obscene.”

Evans noted that some of the vandalism was “related to COVID-19”, and also “included anti-police slogans as well”.

He said an investigator has reviewed footage from an area nearby and the service anticipates a successful outcome to this investigation.

Anyone with information on this crime can contact the Saugeen Shores Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
