New infrastructure funding for Perth Wellington Hospitals

Perth-Wellington MPP Randy Pettapiece says local hospitals will share over $3.8 Million in funding for critical upgrades, repairs and maintenance.

In a media release Tuesday, Pettapiece said over $50 million from the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund will go to 129 hospitals across Ontario for COVID-19-related and other urgent projects.

“We’re fortunate to have excellent hospitals in our area,” Pettapiece said. “This funding will go a long way to help them to continue providing good care to all of us."

“It will mean safe and comfortable spaces for patients, while making sure staff are supported with modern facilities,” Pettapiece added.

“Maintaining hospital infrastructure is another example of how our government is ensuring that Ontarians have access to health care services they can depend on, especially during these unprecedented times,” said Christine Elliott, Deputy Premier and Minister of Health.

“Our ongoing investments to support essential projects like repairing roofs and windows and adding more isolation spaces can make a big difference to a patient's experience. It’s part of our plan to build the capacity we need to end hallway health care in Ontario.”

Stratford General Hospital - $2,102,834

Listowel Memorial Hospital - $241,693
