Police lay charges after theft reported near Milverton
A Kitchener man faces charges after a reported break in just north of Milverton.
The break in was reported on August 23 around 10:30 a.m. when witnesses spotted two suspects taking things from a shed on Perth Road 131 then leaving the scene.
Later that day, around 1 p.m., there was a call about a suspicious person at an address on Ellen Street in Atwood.
When police arrived on scene, they found items from the first break and enter and also found a vehicle that had been stolen from the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
Michael Murrin, 38, of Kitchener, was arrested and charged with:
Theft Under $5000
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
Break, Enter a Place – commit indictable offence
Failure to Comply with Release Order – other than attend court
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford, at a later date, to answer to the charges.
The stolen property, including chainsaws and power tools, were returned to the owner.
The second suspect is still outstanding.
