An infant child has died following a tragic farm accident that occurred in West Perth County over the long weekend.
Members of the Perth County OPP, EMS, and West Perth Fire Department were called to a rural residence near Line 32 and Road 155 outside of Mitchell around 6 p.m. Monday.
When crews arrived, they discovered that an infant had been struck by a piece of farm equipment and killed. The Perth County Major Crime Unit and the Traffic Collision Investigation Unit continue to investigate the incident.
Police are asking the public to avoid the area until further notice. No other details have been made available.
