Recovery grant program in Huron County

Community Futures Huron has provided $15,000 to Huron County and the Huron County Economic Development Department for a new Huron Recovery Grant program.

Warden Jim Ginn said the program is designed to find new and innovative ways for businesses to adjust to a new normal, since the arrival of COVID-19.

“It's really designed to seek innovation in adjusting to COVID. We're looking for innovative ways that can be replicated with other businesses. So we'll supply up to $2,500 for a business if they have to make significant modifications to operate under the COVID environment,” said Ginn. “There may be lesser amounts, but that's what we're looking for. People are quite creative and they know their own business, so if they can come up with a way of serving people that reduces the risk of COVID transmissions, that's kind of what we're looking for.”

Project expenses must occur after August 10 and applications for the program are due August 31.

More information about the program can be found on the Huron County website under Recovery Grant Program.
