Perth County receives PPE donation from local family

Perth County received a donation of personal protective equipment from a local family.

On July 15, Perth County received the PPE donation from the Li family of Stratford as part of their Help Mask Ontario Initiative. Three families are involved in the initiative and have been donating PPE across the province since March when COVID-19 broke out in Canada. The Li family is also joined by the Gond and Budisa families who have worked hard to secure masks sourced from Guangzhou, China.

Perth County was given 20,000 three-ply disposable masks as well as some protective isolation suits. This donation has been part of a series of donations on behalf of the Li family not only to Perth County, but also to the four-member municipalities of North Perth, Perth South, Perth East and West Perth.

“We want to sincerely thank the Li family for this generous donation," said Warden Jim Aitcheson. “Perth County will be able to distribute these masks to our frontline workers so they are well protected.”

“This has been a challenging time for us all. We are grateful to receive this generous donation to Perth County to be able to help equip our frontline staff. These supplies will be critical to our continued effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 in Perth County.” added Lori Wolfe, interim CAO for Perth County.
