Clinton downtown asking people to pull up a chair

Central Huron's community improvement coordinator is looking for used chairs.

Angela Smith said they can be kitchen chairs, Adirondack chairs or any other kind of chair.

"Each store owner will receive a chair that they can paint in any fashion or decorate in any way that would like to give a spot for folks to sit when they're shopping. So the store owner will be asked to put the chair outside their store in the morning and then bring it in again in the evening," said Smith.

Smith said the goal is to make the Clinton downtown easier for people to shop and get what they need and enjoy the experience. She added people will be able to stop anywhere on the main street and have a rest and add something to the downtown.

Smith said she is now looking for donations of used chairs and anyone who has a chair to spare can call her at 519- 476-5922.
