Perth County celebrates Tourism Week differently this year

Perth County is celebrating Tourism Week with promotions, activities, and videos to let residents and visitors know about the many destinations the area has to offer.

Perth County Tourism Officer Ashley Brockelbank said Tourism Week is especially important as the tourism sector is currently facing a particularly difficult time with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

“We recognize that everyone’s vacation plans look different this year, which is why we are pivoting to encourage ‘staycations’. When it is safe to get out and explore once again, we want to ensure Perth County is top of mind for those who live here and those who live nearby. You don’t have to travel far to have amazing experiences and make memories with friends and family,” explained Brockelbank.

The team at Perth County Tourism has an entire week of activities planned. Kicking off Tourism Week, the Township of Perth South is launching the brand new ‘Discover More Flavour’ Perth South Farm Gate Signage Program. The newly adapted Discover More Tourism Brochure will also hit mailboxes this week, to remind people about all the great businesses and destinations that are nearby to enjoy. On top of this, you will also be able to experience Perth County from home, with a fresh new Perth County video showcasing our beautiful surroundings.

“2020 will be the year to explore your own backyard, support local, and celebrate the great destinations we have right here in rural Ontario,” said Brockelbank.
