Owen Sound market goes online

There's new life for the Owen Sound Farmers' Market.

The market has set up an online store and a couple of days later orders are available for pick up. The market has been closed since mid-March because of COVID 19.

Co-manager Richard Thomas says when they're fully up and running, all fresh fruits, vegetables and other produce will be available.

"You'll be able to buy online absolutely anything you could get at the market on a Saturday morning before all of this happened," said Thomas.

He says reopening the market for online orders is good for both customers and vendors and keeps the market going as long time Owen Sound tradition.

"So this is just a good way to connect the people and the product and try to re-instil at the very least a part of what's been a Saturday tradition in Owen Sound for well over a century," added Thomas.

The online store will be open for orders midweek with pick up Saturday afternoon.
