The President of the Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health had a very busy weekend.
The McCall MacBain Foundation donated iPads to Gateway to be distributed to all of the long term care centres, hospitals, retirement and hospice homes in Huron County.
Gwen Devereaux acted as the delivery person.
"This is a wonderful donation from the McCall MacBain Foundation, at a pretty critical time of isolation when people who are unwell and unable to be with their loved ones," said Devereaux.
Devereaux says the number of iPads each home gets will depend on the number of people in the home.
"It's wonderful now with the technology, all of the iPads come with five different apps so that they're able to communicate with Zoom with family, or Skype or Facetime and I can only imagine what it's like when you're unable to see you're family," added Devereaux.
Devereaux says Gateway staff are delighted to have the opportunity to distribute the iPads on behalf of the McCall MacBain Foundation and the people at the homes were very happy to get them.
