Police, EMS honour Statford LTC home hit by COVID (VIDEO)

There was a noisy show of support around Greenwood Court Saturday following the passing of a resident due to COVID-19.

Stratford police and Perth County EMS paid their respects to the staff, loved ones and residents of the long-term care facility with a drive-by parade featuring flashing lights and blaring sirens.

Huron Perth Public Health announced the death in a release Saturday, saying the resident was in their 80s and became sick with COVID-19 symptoms on April 3.

The release said as of Saturday at 3:06 p.m., there have been six confirmed cases in residents at Greenwood and five confirmed cases in staff. All affected individuals continue to be cared for at Greenwood and none have been transferred to hospital.
